Overview
A transportation management system for a university bus network, covering the full journey from finding a route to boarding the bus. Students reserve a specific seat on a specific trip and board with a QR ticket; the operations team manages routes, vehicles, drivers and schedules from a single admin console.
The challenge
Bus schedules were published as static files and seats were claimed on a first-come basis at the stop. Nobody knew how full a trip was until it departed, students queued for buses that were already full, and the operations team had no reliable record of who travelled where.
What we built
We built a booking flow around a live seat map, so capacity is known before departure rather than after it. Each reservation issues a scannable QR ticket that doubles as the boarding record, which gave operations accurate ridership data for the first time. An assistant chatbot handles the routine "when is the next bus" questions that previously went to staff, and the admin dashboard consolidates route, vehicle and driver management in one place.
